Modern Dentistry
At HADC, we always try to use the latest technology to provide the best care for our patients. We are compliant with very strict guidelines for sterile instruments. Spore tests are performed weekly to ensure that the sterilizers are providing sterile instruments for patient safety. Digital radiography is used for our x-rays. There are two advantages to using this technique:time and radiation. The computer reads the data from the x-ray sensor and produces a digital image within seconds. Have you ever had an x- ray taken and waited 10-20 minutes for the nurse or doctor to develop the image? Also, the image is enlarged to the size of the computer screen which is located next to the dental chair in all our rooms. This larger image allows Dr. Petrutsas to easily explain the image to the patient. Furthermore, digital radiography needs less radiation to expose a picture. An x-ray may be taken using up to 90% less radiation than traditional film. We also employ the use of an intra oral camera to take a magnified picture of a tooth or a group of teeth. This image can also be brought up on the computer screen in the operatory.
